January got off to a great start when I received the news that the design I submitted for Gardeners World Live was accepted!
My first EVER show garden!!
The show garden will be part of the APL (Association of Professional Landscapers) Avenue. In 2019, the APL Avenue has a travel inspired theme - showing how a passion for globe-trotting can be used to influence the design of your back garden. Five show gardens will demonstrate innovative design and exceptional build quality to help inspire your next garden project.
The show garden is designed for a couple with a love for New York City. It takes inspiration from the High Line, in particular, with its industrial feel and naturalistic planting, designed by Piet Oudolf.
The garden will be built by Design-it Landscapes (www.designitlandscapes.co.uk) who are based in the Midlands and have a wealth of experience building show gardens. I think we make a great team and can't wait to start planning the build. We welcome you all to visit the show and come and say hello!
The New York High Line already has a special place in my heart as I actually got engaged there in November last year, so fingers crossed the show garden is a great success!
