MODERN REAR GARDEN
After the success of her design for the front garden of this property, Lucy was invited to design the rear garden too. Lucy designed a contemporary scheme to work with the house style; a large entertaining space using grey granite paving and second smaller seating area by the glasshouse. She also included a black composite deck "boardwalk" wrapping round the property, this overcame the level change while keeping the rest of the space simple and uncluttered.
Lucy used large blocks of planting for high impact including Hakonechloa grass with Hebe's for contrasting texture. Multi-stem Cornus kousa add vertical interest and drama in the Spring. Pleached trees also frame the space and provide privacy.
Lucy enhanced the planting around the pond, adding a bold band of Miscanthus which, when mature, will look fantastic framing this space.
Lucy also assisted her clients in choosing a material for their balcony. With her extensive knowledge of materials and having sold natural stone for 5 years Lucy was delighted to help.
