WELFORD BARN
When Lucy met with her clients and viewed the 'garden' around this beautiful barn conversion, it really was a blank canvas!
There was only a gravel driveway and rough grass.
The plot was an unusual shape so Lucy distracted the eye with circles and curves. The key entertaining areas are framed and enhanced with planting while the remainder of the space was newly turfed. This keeps maintenance down and provides more interest at points where you will either sit or pass by along the pathways. The main circular dining space is 'hugged' by Pleached trees forming an 'outdoor room' feel and offering privacy.
The 'post and no rail' fencing keeps the dog safe and off the driveway while also adding a sculptural element amongst the planting.
My clients are already loving the space and have been using the firepit regularly in the evenings. The bespoke hardwood seating is really comfortable and ties in with all the curves.
