Lucy loves period properties so was delighted to be asked to design this courtyard in Stratford's Old Town.  The clients were keen to reinstate the outdoor toilet and create an outdoor living space, complete with covered cooking/dining area.  New garden walls were built as part of the house renovation to give a very traditional feel.  

Lucy designed a bold but simple scheme to maximise the space.  Slatted trellis was added to the tops of the walls for increased privacy.  Artificial lawn provides a pop of colour all year round and evergreen box hedging offers structure and a traditional feel to the space.  Herbaceous plants and fragrant climbers further enhance the planting in the spring/summer.  The original blue bricks and York Stone paving were reused - blending old with new.
