Textured Cottage-Style Garden Design in Ilmington

Lucy was commissioned to transform a blank canvas of lawn into a textured cottage-style garden in Ilmington. The brief called for a space that combined practical outdoor living with a sense of natural beauty, fragrance, and colour.

In the new design, the lawn was removed entirely, allowing the garden to be maximised with low-maintenance, vibrant planting. A central water feature serves as the key focal point, with gentle curves radiating out to create flow and interest throughout the space. The layout includes both a dining area and a relaxed seating zone, making the garden perfect for socialising or unwinding.

Hornton stone was used for the retaining walls, carefully chosen to complement the local character and blend seamlessly with the surroundings. The combination of natural materials, fragrant planting, and thoughtful design has created a garden that is as inviting as it is practical — a space to enjoy with family and friends while surrounded by nature.
