Hospitality Garden Design at Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club
Project Type
Commercial
Location
Stratford upon Avon Park Hotel & Golf Club
Role
Landscape Design
Lucy was commissioned to transform a large, undeveloped outdoor space at the Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club into a stylish and functional garden for guests to enjoy. Previously just an expanse of grass, the area now features a dynamic layout with multiple seating zones designed for dining, drinks, and relaxation after a round of golf.
The design includes a series of “pods” tailored to accommodate groups of various sizes—from intimate gatherings of four to larger parties of up to 20 guests. As the hotel regularly hosts weddings and private events, the space was intentionally planned for versatility and flow.
Planting was selected for its low-maintenance appeal while delivering maximum visual impact during the summer months, when the outdoor space sees the most use. Soft, textural plantings create gentle screening between seating areas, offering privacy, movement, and seasonal interest.
A central water feature acts as a focal point, visible both from the restaurant and along the main pathway from the car park—adding a sense of arrival and tranquillity. In the early stages of the project, Lucy proposed the idea of hosting ‘Café del Mar’-style DJ evenings during the summer. These events have since become a popular feature of the hotel's seasonal offering, bringing the space to life with music and atmosphere.
This commercial garden design perfectly balances aesthetics, functionality, and hospitality needs—enhancing the guest experience at every level.
