WARWICK HOSPITAL'S
RAINBOW GARDEN
Lucy was honoured to be asked to redesign this very special courtyard within Warwick Hospital. The Quiet Garden includes The Rainbow Tree, a stunning commissioned steel tree, which proudly holds hand-crafted glass leaves in memory of babies born but who couldn't stay.
Lucy designed the garden to enhance The Rainbow Tree, hence the rainbow paving, and wanted to create a more uplifting space for families to remember their loved ones.
The planting, once established, will add fragrance and soften the space. It will also help zone the various seating areas so they feel more private and enveloped.
The final image in the gallery below shows the "before". A large ventilation unit had been installed in the special courtyard following Covid which was overbearing in the space. The hospital team wanted to screen this as much as possible and make the garden feel special again.
